Bev greatly valued the many friendships she enjoyed with her wonderful array of friends and loved her book clubs and playing bridge. She and Jack traveled far and wide and were thankful for their lovely experiences. She was also on the Founding Committee for the Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center and did fundraising for the Heart, Lung and Cancer Associations. She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1945 and attended Ohio Wesleyan University until WWII brought her back to Portsmouth to help with the war effort by becoming a teller with the bank her father presided over.
